Al-Azhar Park

new entertainment park located in the center of Cairo has a total area of 336,000 m2. The park consists of green areas, roads, theater, entertaining areas, artificial lake, lake side café, restaurant and many other facilities. The different levels and layers of the park included in the project could be considered as the real enhancement of the architectural and engineering design.

The GEOTECHNICAL works of the project within an area of around 280,000 m2 are leveling and grading of surface, clay lining and forming the final designed surfaces and levels of the park. The designed layers of the park are the clay lining above the sub-grade surface (as an impervious layer) then protection layer then planting soil (in the green areas) or structural fill (in road areas).

700,000 m3 of excavation and residuals were cleared from the site.

The GEOMEMBRANE works within an area of 56,000 m2 consists of protection layers of sloop green areas and lake (mainly HDPE and clay lining as impervious layers) with thickness from 0.5 mm up to 2 mm.

The HARDESCAPE works covered the different kind of materials such as tiles, stones, marbles, granite, curbstones, and blocks as final surfaces of roads, theaters, pergolas, stairways, seats, corridors, bathrooms and the fountains
